we had an awesome mother's day weeekend and i hope you guys did too. i know i'm a little late with this but i've been busy...
hubby and i had a really nice date on friday night. after dinner we had some drinks and watched the lakers lose, boo! afterwards we went to toluca lake to check out the classic cars. i was a fun night and i think we both needed a nice relaxing evening.
we spent most of saturday running around town with flat stanley and taking pics of him. we left the house at 8:30am and got home around 3pm. boy was i tired when we got home...i couldn't take a nap because i still had to run to the market and get some groceries plus i was making mother's day dinner.
since it was mexican's mother's day on saturday we took mom to dinner at her fave seafood place, pacificos in culver city. i think it's become our fave restaurant too! i had the best shrimp cocktail and everyone else had fish...duh.
i decided to make dinner on sunday to continue the celebration. i made lemon spaghetti, balsamic chicken, and roasted cheese zucchini, delish!
after dinner mom opened gifts, we watched the lakers lose again before that and then we just vegged. i was so tired that i went to sleep at 9pm.
good times!

I miss the classic car shows. Those are so fun to go to. Looks like you had a great weekend!! My momma is in California so I didn't get to see her :-( When I called, her and the rest of my family were our having dinner. This is the first time that I wasn't able to join them. I still managed to have a good weekend though!
I would love to know how you made that yummy mother's day meal. I am always looking for new recipes to try since I am not very experienced with cooking. I eat out way to much but I want to start making simple recipes that are quick and easy to make.
LOL ;o)
I think I have posted the recipes before so I will check and will let you know...
I was not into cooking until I started watching Food TV a lot and got inspired.
My fave cook is Giada, she makes killer Italian meals. I bought several of her books and have made several of her recipes, which btw are pretty easy.
Good luck!
Hehe! Flat Stanley in all the family photos!
Yumm! Oh that food looks soooooooooooooooooooogood!
we had a good time with flat stanley but i sure was tired after all that running around...
thanks for checking in! ;o)
OMG!! I absolutely LOVE the Food Network Channel....I can sit and watch it all day. Giada always makes some yummy foods. There are several of the shows that I like. One of my favorites is Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri. I love that show. He showcases some of the best "homestyle" restaurants all over the country. I've even tried some of the restaurants that he visits in his who because they are close to where I live. I also like Barefoot Contessa and Tyler's Ultimate. I think I have an obsession with food!! I have a few books some from Food Network Chefs but my favorite books right now are the America's Test Kitchen cookbooks. They explain everything very well. It's like a cookbook for dummy's. I also like to food and product reviews.
I really need to start cooking more, especially since I have like a gazillion cookbooks! Plus it's getting way to expensive to eat out everyday.
Giada, Ina, Rachel Ray, and Tyler Florence are my fave cooks. I dvr all their shows so once I find a recipe that I like I will print it out, make it and if I like it I add it to a binder I created just for that reason.
Happy cooking!
Thanks for sharing pictures!
I've been to that same spot in San Monica. How cool is that!
Glad it was great chica.
