New Fridge / Freezer - Help Needed

Comments

Does this help?

Fruits and vegetables require about three different levels of relative humidity. Items requiring high relative humidity (90-100%) include leafy greens, beans, cucumber, asparagus, broccoli, celery, avocado, berries, green onions, and pears. A medium relative humidity (80-90%) is best for things like melon, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and citrus. Low relative humidity (below 80%) works best for dried garlic and onions, pumpkin, and squash.
I haven't found much on settings for meats.
I am amused that you are having frig trouble at the same time that I am having plumbing trouble. I guess things often just don't run that smoothly!

Good that Kirk was able to give you some helpful advice. Perhaps from "food photography?"

I bet that I have the only "plumbing photography" photo, though! ;)
lol - I set my crisper drawers at "medium" and quit worrying about it. but i rarely have food in the house so even if the humidity made something last longer/shorter than usual, I wouldn't notice.

good luck. it's a loverly fridge!
@Kirk - thanks. I have printed that so I might remember. I will also keep looking. It cant be that hard...

@DRB - sorry about the plumbing - I noticed that post. Is it sorted now (in the where the water came from sense, that is)

@LeendaDLL - thanks! I like that the ice cube holder does not take over the top of the freezer - I got 2 freezer shelves more. And the inside of the fridge is neat too. The only thing I miss from my old fridge is it had a cold meat drawer. Handy, that. Kept the ham and stuff in one place, safe from cross-contamination with raw meat.

I must see if I can get my hands on an LG one.
Think of it this way - the more humidity in the drawer, the less things will wilt/shrivel/dry up. So if you've got lettuce, apples, pears, (most fruit), etc. keep it in a high-humidity drawer. Things that are already dried and/or won't dry out much can go with lower humidity (most vegetables).
Thanks - that's helpful. Dunno about the meat drawer, though. Maybe I will have to read the literature again.
